I hate how people act like her image is any less corporately manufactured than Lady Gaga’s or Lana Del Rey’s doe.

thiiis. her entire spiel is entirely manufactured along w her “look”. she like the rest has been trained on what to say to make herself seem “authentic”. its clear as day. :/ this is just part of her gimmick.

Ugg… it’s also slut-shaming and obnoxious to imply that she’s the only one who doesn’t do the shock/stunt factor. Like, not only is this all basically bullshit, but it’s kinda catty. AND I have mixed feelings about her first panel, acting like she somehow magically has not been influenced by magazine covers & music videos - when research and plain out anecdotal evidence tells us that we have all internalized those images and have to fight against them. What is that saying about/to young people who haven’t yet built up the “strength” she pretends to have just naturally had to “never” look at the media and feel less. And I mean, it’s not like being white and pretty has anything at all to do with how she can pull off being fat in a way that, say, Jennifer Hudson or Christina Aguilera aren’t allowed to be.
